Sleeping Lions by Tom Derrington

It is Leo’s 6th birthday.  His tormented mother, Katie is determined to give her little boy the party he deserves. His father Max thinks it’s a terrible idea. Set in real-time, as the parents wait in vain for Leo’s friends to start arriving, accusations fly, uninvited guests show up and painful truths are realised. A mordantly funny, yet heart-wrenching story about love, denial, compassion, and loss.

Some strong language and upsetting topics centred around death are explored in the play.
