Frontiers by Andy Apollo

2021 sees the 50 year anniversary of NASA's Apollo 14 mission. The following interweaves fact and fiction, exploring the decade leading up to mankind's third lunar landing. In total, only twelve human beings have walked on the moon. It is one of the most exclusive clubs ever to have existed.

They are all white, American males.

As mankind hurtled into the Space Age, navigating myriad technological stumbling blocks, so too American society made great leaps, but not without experiencing pervasive growing pains. NASA's ultimate mission was to unite a deeply divided nation, struggling to come to terms with a changing world. Although the party narrative would express otherwise, it was not wholly successful.

The events of this play take place between April 12, 1961 - March 8, 1971.

This play is based on actual events between 1961 and 1971 in the US, and therefore reflects some dated opinions on race which are unacceptable today.
