Homunculus by Gatlin Perrin

Brilliant scientist Emma creates an exact clone of herself, which she instructs to replace her; the Clone must return to Emma’s oblivious wife and child in order to live out the rest of her life as ‘Emma’. The Clone agrees to go through with this arrangement, along with Emma’s condition that once a year the two will meet in the same spot to update Emma on her family.
